Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives' tales; rather, train yourself to be godly. For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.

Opportunity in South Carolina

FCA Endurance has been presented with another great ministry opportunity out in South Carolina through a partnership with SET UP Events.   more

The Spiritual Bonk

Some of you may recall the article I wrote in the August '07 Aid Station called, "Be Courageous."  In the article, I mentioned a pastor and Teammate, Toby Toburen (pictured right), out in South Carolina who was doing a related sermon series on "What Did Jesus Do" (WDJD).  I also suggested in fun that we should invite him to be a guest writer.  Well, he has taken me/us up on the offer and written an article to share, which I am happy to pass along.

If you would like to read past editions of the Aid Station, they are available for download from our
links and downloads page.

FCA Summer Endurance Camps

FCA Camps are amazing experiences for student-athletes and adult volunteers.  FCA has running (cross-country/track), swimming, biking, and triathlon camps for middle to high school students across the country.

'08 ICTN Endurance Camp

For the past two years, the International Christian Triathlon Network (ICTN) Triathlon/Endurance Camp has been one of the highlights of my year.  This year was no different, and while I would honestly struggle to say which camp has been my favorite, this one had some great, added blessings!

One Stop Gear Shop

We recently moved all FCA Endurance Gear to Valley Bike and Ski Shop (VBS) of Apple Valley, MN.  VBS is a Corporate Ministry Partner, and this move will make it much easier for us to track and stock gear, as well as keep all gear in one place for your shopping convenience.

As a brief update, we have recently added swim caps, black performance socks, and water bottles.  We are in the process of stocking everything up for the coming season (we appreciate your patience while we do this) and will have other new items coming soon.

Lastly, I wanted to remind you that VBS offers Teammates a 15% discount on everything but bikes and that 10% of your purchase price goes back into our ministry.

While what we do is not about the gear, we do pray that this clothing helps create sharing opportunities, grow and strengthen our Team, and remind you and others "Why do you race?".

Giving Opportunities:

Our AMP Drive is still on, and thanks to the matching gift, it continues to be a great way to increase the impact of your giving.  Goodsearch also donates to FCA-E while you search the web.   more

Huddle Blips

Triathlon Class:
The Phoenix Huddle, led by Debbie Foster, is currently teaching a K-5th grade triathlon class as part of the Kyrene after school enrichment program.  They are offering 6 classes/workouts over 8 weeks, with the class culminating in the 2nd FCA Endurance Healthy Families Triathlon on April 12th.  The class is being co-instructed by Teammate Commodore Mann.  What a cool opportunity!

Group Training:
The Orlando Huddle met on Feb 16th at the National Training Center in Clermont for some training, instruction, and fellowship.  They offered a short and long run and bike, and discussed individual goals.  Thanks to Roy McConnell for his leadership in FL.

Calling the Experts:
Huddle Leader Scott Burkhardt has found a great way to tap the Coeur d'Alene Huddle into some of the country's premier triathlon experts.  During 2 of their meetings over the past couple months, he has set up a call with JR Rosania, world-renowned swimming, triathlon, and strength coach, and Steve Born, Technical Advisor with Hammer Nutrition, to share their hearts and expertise, followed by a Q & A.  The call is taken over speaker phone during the meeting.  Thanks to JR and Steve for their service, and the call is much cheaper than a flight :-)

FCA Time Trial:
The Boise Huddle continues to move forward with plans for the first FCA Endurance "owned" bike race.  The time trial is scheduled for April 23.  They are also working on 2 crits for this summer.  We'll keep you posted.

NM Back at It:
Under the leadership of Hector Tovar and Laurie Abrams, the Albuquerque Huddle is back at it, offering weekly track workouts.  They are fast down there!

MN Study:
While most group training is called off in the winter due to our arctic conditions, the Huddle has been faithful in meeting nearly every 2 weeks.  Under the leadership of Jer Baker and Steve Gerber, they/we have been doing a Bible study on the FCA Competitor's Creed.
